NeighborWorks® Boise is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community development organization that has, for 40 years, helped to revitalize neighborhoods and improve lives throughout the region by addressing the housing needs in our community.
NeighborWorks® Boise is proud to announce that this year’s Paint The Town™ event celebrates 40 years of painting homes for veteran, senior, and disabled Ada County residents! As one of the longest-running volunteer events in Idaho, thousands of volunteers donate their time and resources each year to fix up and paint homes for neighbors unable to do it themselves.
Volunteers and recipients alike said this event is more than just painting a home or helping with landscaping, it’s about paying it forward. “Often teams go above and beyond the painting and do a lot of extra updates around the house as well,” said Inga Hadder, the director of communications and community engagement for NeighborWorks. (KTVB 7)
While the event only happens once a year, NeighborWorks said many relationships are formed from Paint the Town. Teams make plans to continue helping the homeowners throughout the year.
There are two options to help; volunteer to help by forming a team to paint a deserving neighbor’s home and help give them hope. You can create your own team of 10-30 people or we can help find a team for you. The other option is to buy a bucket. These proceeds will go toward buying paint and supplies for this year’s Paint The Town™ and you will be entered in a raffle to win some awesome prizes! Some prizes include but are not limited to a wine basket, one night at the Riverside Hotel, trip to Puzzle Effect, cooking class and more!
